Believe it or not, I do not have a sweet tooth. In lieu of dessert, I usually just go for more dinner. Sure, I’ve been known to nosh on a Reese cup or two in my sleep, but my regular awake self just doesn’t dig dessert. HOWEVER.
Today at work, we ordered a cake from Eadie’s Catering to celebrate some office birthdays. Eadie’s Catering is located at One Mellon Center (the humongous Mellon building downtown), but you can order a variety of food from their website. I ordered a 1/4 sheet Chocolate Whipped Cream Cake and OH MY GOD THIS IS THE BEST CAKE I’VE EVER HAD!!!
I’m not exaggerating. This is the best cake I’ve ever had. Two layers of real chocolate cake are separated by smooth and fluffy whipped cream. The edges of the cake have been covered with cute, tiny curls of chocolate shavings. Of course, the top was beautifully adorned with flowers and “Happy Birthday”. We were required to keep it refrigerated until serving time, and of course that just made the whipped cream perfectly refreshing. (Cold is the ONLY way to eat this cake.) The best part about this moist cake is that it actually tastes like chocolate! No imitation flavoring here, buddy, no way. This is high-quality chocolate, merci beaucoup. I want to eat this every day.
I am encouraging you all to visit their site, and take a look at the take-out menu. Friends and family, I can assure you that you will not be disappointed. And if you are, just bring what’s left to my house.
Please keep this in mind for future birthdays…ahem…May 10th will be here before you know it!
This is the cake page link! Enjoy!
